As many of you already know that keywords are the most essential part of online business. It’s very important to do a keyword research and the competition research before starting a website or Blog.
Keywords are divided into two parts “short tail” and “long tail” keywords. Short tail keywords gets the high amount of searches on the web and very hard to rank but on the other side long tail keywords gets very less searches but easy to for example “colon cleanse” is a short tail keyword and it is very hard to rank on the other side “best colon cleanse herbal product” is a long tail keyword but it is easy to rank moreover it is commercially viable.
Commercial Viability
Commercial viability is another factor that you need to understand before targeting a keyword. However, “best colon cleanse herbal product” is long tail keyword but it is a buying phrase that means the users who are searching for this keyword are in the mood of buying a colon cleanse product. So it is natural that this keyword would also have competition but with a little hard work I am sure you will able to rank on this keyword.
Buying Keywords
Long tail keywords are usually more commercially viable. People who are searching for “colon cleanse” is not always in the mood of buying the product. But those people who are searching for the keyword “best colon cleanse herbal product” are more into the mood of buying a colon cleanse product that’s why long tail keywords are also buying keywords.
How To Find Long Tail Keywords
As I already told you that long tail keywords are usually commercial viable and could make you good money. But, it is not easy to find a long tail keywords which gets good amount of searches. You should always focus on keyword that will only get 2000 to 3000 hits per month and try to dominate the 1st position for that keyword on Google. You can use a Google adwords tool which is the best keyword tool available for finding long tail keywords.
Tip – I suggest you to choose a phrase match option in Google keyword tool, as it gives me the best result.
Example
2000 to 3000 hits per month may be sounding very low to you now, as I know it from experience that it used to sound very low to me. But, for example if you have only have 10 keywords in hand and if you are able to dominate the 1st position on Google for those keywords then it means that you will get at lest 500 to 800 hits per day on your site or Blog which is not bad. 1000 targeted hits per day will make you decent money if you monetize your landing pages in a good way.
Still It Is Not Easy
The above example sounds very easy to you and now I think you would have started to calculate the conversion rate but it’s no that easy. You need to work on it every day without losing your focus to make it possible.
