When you have the urge to talk to a girl and moreover if this girl is someone you don’t really know then you have to be on your guard so that you don’t get into trouble. Smile and Wave

When you see a girl you want to talk to say at a supermarket or at a coffee shop try the smile and wave method to start a conversation with her. If you catch her looking your way, smile pleasantly and if she returns the smile then go up to her and start by saying hello. Introduce yourself and if she reciprocates then you could have a general conversation from there on.

Find something of general interest to talk about

If there is a girl you want to talk to then it’s a good idea to look for general points on which to start talking. For instance, if she’s reading the paper and seems to be focusing on a particular section say the banking news then ask her a question about the banking sector or about the finance industry in general. This will give her a chance to share some insights with you and you will get the chance to talk to her.

Know what girls like

If you as a guy were to ever walk down the street with a cute dog, most girls will look your way and smile. So, if there is a particular girl who you wish to talk to then make a list of what girls like, like cute dogs and walk past her with one the next time you feel you may bump into her. When she reacts to your cute walking partner, grab the opportunity to talk to her.

Tell her she looks familiar

This is the oldest trick in the book. If you really want to talk to a girl and you don’t know her then walk up to her and tell her that she looks familiar. Get her to talk about who she is and how you could have met her somewhere before. This will at least fuel the conversation and after that…who knows.

Use your manners

If you want to talk to a girl and she doesn’t know you, then use your manners to your advantage. If she is walking toward a door, open it for her. If she is in the same bus as you, make room for her to sit…these little actions will oblige her to at least say a polite thank you in return and you can initiate a conversation thereafter.
